All Matter Together

lots of noises pounce in the background
people are talking
it is so weird twelve or thirteen of them
more or less talking
talking and carrying on
one person reads on the sofa
two people dance you can tell
the vocal basic music tells their hips
where to swing and where to crest
a bunch of people hang by the sink
I like the talk sink too, they hang there and talk
they look mythical backlit and curving to
the music – the minor key voice–driven music

music gets corny – bando bando they keep saying
the voices get louder and sweeter
the voices the voices in the music
and the voices gathered singing at the sink
for a minute or two
all the voices matter together
