our nation needs some new museums
we'll start with an eyeball museum
half the eyeballs will be democratic
and half will be republican
the eyeballs, mixed and matched
will stare out
from aboriginal masks
and everyone will see
what everyone else sees
it will be obvious

ok now we need a museum
which is not a museum

it will consist of
people
people at a museum
a museum
which is not a museum

it would be so great
hey, the entire nation
could now become
a huge museum

everyone will be
at the museum
all the time, milling
staring with their eyeballs
not realizing it's a museum

taking the audio tour
having everything explained to them
seeing how all the other halves live
they could visit the gift shop
buy masks that smell like all of history
and vibrate like swells in the ocean

you can just… muse
at the museum that isn't really
it would be so great
if only we could
sell them a ticket
